I needed new rims for the car. On daekleader.dk the price was clearly lower than at the other shops I looked at. Before I paid, I checked the shop with Shopeye.

Shopeye showed medium risk. The domain has been registered since 2013. The shop lists company details, and you can pay by card. The seller, though, is registered in Andorra, outside the EU. That makes consumer protection harder to enforce. There is no return address, and the shop is not e-mærket.

That is not a yes or no on whether you should buy there. It is the information you can use when you decide for yourself.

## What does "outside the EU" mean?

When the seller is outside the EU, the usual rules on complaints and withdrawal do not apply in the same way as they do with a Danish or EU shop. If the item never arrives, or something else goes wrong, it is usually harder to get help.

It is worth a closer look. It is not the same as "don't buy".

## I bought them anyway

I went ahead and bought them. Delivery went as it should, and I paid less. That does not make daekleader.dk a recommendation. It only shows that a purchase outside the EU can turn out fine when you know the risk and you accept it.

Other people would have walked away. Both can be sensible.

## Then you decide

One finding rarely settles it. You put several signs next to each other: who is behind the shop, how old it is, what other customers have experienced, and where the seller is registered.

Shopeye gathers several of the things you would otherwise have to look up yourself. You get a risk assessment, the facts behind it, and a short note on what is worth paying attention to. Then you can decide whether you want to buy there.
